Wake The Glad Strain
Grace J. Frances
Hubert P. Main

Jesus from bondage His people will save,
Rising He hallows the night of the grave;
Rising He taketh transgression away,
Christ, our Redeemer, is risen today.

Liveth the scepter of mercy to wield,
Light of the faithful, their Buckler and Shield;
Him shall all nations and kingdoms obey,
Him who in glory is risen today.

Saviour look down from Thy dwelling above,
Cover us all with Thy banner of love;
Thine be the glory, O, Ancient of Days,
Thou hast redeemed us, and Thine be the praise.

Chorus

Seraph and Cherubim, wake the glad strain,
Jesus the Crucified liveth again,
Seraph and Cherubim, wake the glad strain,
Jesus the Crucified liveth again.
